KBS-Forward feed firing grate
KBS-Forward feed firing grate
The combustion grate, from KBS-Feuerungstechnik, is characterized by the fact that it has been constructed in modular design. The steel construction for components subject to high static loads is made of heavy-duty commercial steel construction profiles. All other assemblies are made of commercially available profiles and steel grades.
The single-lane forward feed firing grate is produced in the widths from 2.4 to 6.0 meters.
The main grate has a length of 7.2 meters (2 x 3.6 meters) with grate zones 1- 4
and a web inclination of 0° or 6°.
Other pitches of the grating zones are also possible.
The burning-out grate (grate zone 5) can be supplied in length 2.4 or 3.6 meters. Horizontal inclination.
Due to the design specifications of the respective lane lengths, the total length of the feed grate can be 9.6 or 10.2 meters.
From a lane width of 6.0 meters, the firing grate is manufactured as a 2-lane or in other multi-lane design produced.
The surface covering of the firing grate, is available water or air cooled available.
The main grate and burning-out grate, are mechanically separated by a - lintel 2.This means that there are no problems with the different expansion distances in the grate lane width.
The water-cooled firing grates developed by KBS-Feuerungstechnik can withstand the highest thermal loads, even the type of pure use of high-calorific substitute fuels is possible without any problems.
KBS Forward feed firing grates are suitable for the combustion of:
Typ incineration waste
# Household waste
# Industrial waste
# Rejects
# Substitute fuel (EBS)
# Substitute fuel (RDF)
# Substitute fuel (SRF)
# Biomass also waste wood
# Residual materials (MBA)
# Sewage sludge 25% tr.
Due to the design of the firing grate with external hydr. Drive cylinders, the moving rollers for the grate carriages, the cooling water hoses fed from the outside into the inside of the grate racks to supply the moving rows of grate bars, the grate substructure is very easily accessible.
Due to the water-cooled side expansion developed by KBS-Feuerungstechnik and protected by a US patent (for the structure), a redirection of the primary air from the lower area of the grate frame, with the existing ash funnels, via the side support boxes into the combustion chamber is prevented to over 90%.
The side boxes are pressed against the right and left sides of the grate track with a predefined pretensioning force by means of existing pretensioning elements; this measure prevents an excessive gap in the side area of the furnace grate.
Charging of the furnace grate with fuel is achieved by means of a - Fuel feeder device – which is mounted above the furnace grate.
Due to a difference in height of up to 0.9 meters between the feeder table and the top edge of the grate (lintel 1), a break-up of possibly existing lumped lumpy fuel material is achieved
The Fuel feeder device is equipped up to a grate web width of 3.6 meters with a hydraulic cylinder to drive the forward and backward feed motion.
From a web width of more than 3.6 meters the drive is made with 2 hydraulic cylinders in synchronized control.
The Fuel feeder device is also available in 1-lane or multi-lane version.
On the fuel feeder, there is an angular connection for the fuel chute.
This elbow can be manufactured with an inclination from 0° to 12°.
On top of the Feeding device, there is a fuel feeding chute. This feeding chute can be manufactured with an inclination from 0° to 12°.
It is equipped with 2 fire extinguishing levels, intermediate compensator, shaft shut-off valve and upper hopper.
The entire fuel feeding chute can be supplied with wear plates, either complete or partial, upon request.
The ash hoppers mounted below the grate frame are equipped with service doors and service openings with dimensions of 600 x 600 mm. For fixing the required insulation materials, a flat steel ribbing is applied on the outside of the hoppers.
The openings for the primary air ducts are dimensionally correct as specified by the process engineering.
The deslagging area is built according to the specifications of the planning office and the client. Wet deslaggers / trough chain conveyors or slide de-sludgers can be installed for use. All components are individually adjusted to each other.
The functions of the deslagger are the discharge of the slag after the combustion and the sealing between the furnace (negative pressure) and the environment.
The air-tightness is ensured with a water bath, thus avoiding disturbances in the form of false air during waste incineration. The water level in the deslagger is controlled.
KBS firing technology, guaranteed by the above system description a :
# High travel time and high availability of the components used
# Optimized efficiency of the incineration plant due to high burning-out
