Firing grate surface
A grate stone, also called a grate bar, is a metallic component on which the fuel to be burned lies in a grate furnace. It thus limits the combustion chamber vertically downwards. The grate bar is mostly moved within the grate furnace in order to transport the fuel within the boiler and towards the end of the grate then only covered with ash, also to transport this.
Grate bars are available in water- or air cooled version.
All grate bars are made of heat-resistant cast steel.
In close coordination with the foundry, the optimal material, with the appropriate chemical composition and the associated heat treatment, and on the basis of national or international standards or individual specifications of the grate bar is manufactured.
